Just to let anyone know. YOU MUST INSTALL AN OEM FORD CAMERA. If you buy cheap chinese cameras, dorman, amazon, ebay... You will have the image upside down. Very common when you use those cheap cameras. If it's OEM, it should cost at least $300+ USD. Once calibration is complete, everything should work. Buy from dealer, NOT ONLINE. Have yet to have to a problem. Also, if you did this and still have problems. Have someone who has IDS or FJDS, Autel, Snap-on etc and see if they can do the process with their tool. I just did a BCM new from ford yesterday and Forscan had options IDS didn't to reset Body after programming with FJDS. I purchased Forscan because it's an amazing tool and can save me some bucks by doing As Built Data. Good Luck Everyone!

Hi,

This is a cut and paste from my post on a similar thread.

Having had the same issue as everyone on here I was finally able to get my lines back this evening.

I got my replacement camera from a Ford dealer.

I'm running the FORScan V2.3.35 beta software.
On the left hand side of the App select the Spanner/Wrench icon - Service Functions
At top select - Service Procedures
On the list select - BdyCM Module Reset
Hit the Play/Start button at the bottom
Follow the prompts

I hope this works for everyone else as I know how frustrating this problem is!

PS. This is just a suggestion which worked for me and only do it for yourself if you're confident you know what you're doing. I have a Mustang and the cable in the trunk is notorious for breaking so I went to Home Depot, bought some connectors and installed an ethernet cable in its place. The process took me about 1.5 hours but if/when it breaks again all I have to do is buy a $5 cable from Walmart and plug it in.

1) Good luck with aftermarket cameras.
2) Dealer equipment is required to align the camera with body control.
3) ADAS equipment is required (visual display) to calibrate the camera and save the calibrations to the body control.
4) Depending on year, make and model, there may be a Ford recall but believe it's related to newer models.

Not true on a aftermarket camera not working!
The first purchase from eBay the camera view was upside down! Second purchase bingo the aftermarket camera worked just like the original OEM with mods or calibration was not needed

Did I miss it or did you not link to the listing for this working 2nd camera? Thanks!

I just purchased a new (2021) FORD OEM tailgate (the one with the step) for my 2017 F-150 XLT (fully loaded, all options, large screen).
The camera works when I put it in reverse, but the lines (stationary and dynamic) are not coming on nor the warning blocks.

omar302 mentioned that I probably need to calibrate the camera under something like "LIN calibration".
Does anyone have the procedure for this?

I'm also going to try these steps that Rolfecat suggested above in this thread:

On the left hand side of the App select the Spanner/Wrench icon - Service Functions
At top select - Service Procedures
On the list select - BdyCM Module Reset
Hit the Play/Start button at the bottom
Follow the prompts

Does anyone have a better suggestion? I see most issues pertain to non-OEM cameras, mine is straight from the factory. If you've tried something that worked, can you please hook me up?

Thanks!

***UPDATE***
I took the truck out for a spin today and realized that my warning/proximity blocks are showing when I'm in reverse and approaching an obstacle. It's weird that those are working but the dynamic parking aides (white) and stationary guides (red/yellow/green) are the ones not showing up. I've been reading the forums and most problems occur with non-OEM cameras. The one I have is what came with the tailgate, so 100% OEM.
Just more info to see if there's anyone that can help me troubleshoot and fix this.
Thanks!

So for anyone who either is in this thread or finds this thread in the future. If you're 2011-2015 Explorer with the Sync 2 (MyFordTouch) setup and original factory installed camera module is still working but the lines disappeared. This is what I was able to do to get the lines to show up again.

Background.

I just purchased a 2011 Ford Explorer Limited and the backup camera was functional with lines when I purchased it. A few days ago I noticed the lines were missing and started researching what could have happened. (I think but am not certain it happened shortly after upgrading to the latest sync firmware v3.10). I then discovered FORscan and all its magical capabilities. I ordered the OBDLink EX cable and installed FORscan on my laptop. I paid for a 1 YR extended license and got to work

Steps

First thing I did was try the calibration in the BdyCM and I got the error B115E:08-48 from the software at 8%. Tried it again with the same result. After a bit of research someone suggested running some of the Diagnostic Tests on the CAM and LIM busses. So I went to attempt that but didn't see exactly which self-tests that it was referring to but did see the BdyCM On-Demand Self-Test so I ran that. (First time it failed because I had the hood open.) but closed the hood and ran the test again after resetting the DTCs. It completed the second time around.

I then re-tried the camera calibration and it succeeded.

Hope this helps someone else.
