Injector coding
Injector coding
Hi Guys new to this site and new to the forscan software. I have a 59 plate fiesta 1.6 tdci. I have replaced the bosch injectors and i have a couple of questions about setting up the ecm for the new injectors. First thing is on the change injector coding page it has a table of where you enter the codes for the new injectors that are numbered from 1 to 4. Do these numbers 1 to 4 relate to the cylinder numbers or the injector numbers ie firing order. It is not clear to me. The other thing is there is the option to reset the ecm. Does this reset the learned adaptions that were learned for the old injectors. So if i reset the module it will make the car learn the new injector adaptions quicker? If i hit the rest module option will it cause any other things to reset? ei pats etc. Many thanks!

They are Injectors' ones (firing order)Ledgend77 wrote:First thing is on the change injector coding page it has a table of where you enter the codes for the new injectors that are numbered from 1 to 4. Do these numbers 1 to 4 relate to the cylinder numbers or the injector numbers ie firing order.
"Reset All Adaptations" erases all adaptations PCM accumulated, such as MAF, EGR and so on (any that exist).Ledgend77 wrote:Does this reset the learned adaptions that were learned for the old injectors. "Module Reset" is some kind of "reboot" of module, it does not erase adaptations but forces module to re-initialize.
However, in your case none of these may be necessary, as PCM should reset old inector adaptations when you program new ones (although we cannot guarantee it because the behaviour may be different on different engines).
Re: Injector coding
Hi thanks for the reply. I have recoded the injectors in firing order the engine is running great. I am really impressed with what you can do with the forscan software. It gives the diy car enthusiast back the power to look after and repair there modern vehicles with out the cost and hassle of depending on dealers for diagnosis. Well done keep up the great work. Kind regards Ledgend77
