which OBDLink MX scanner

Post by DARBAS »

I am going to bite the bullet and buy one of these scan tools over the cheap Chinese ones. Which of the 2 versions would be the quicker and better Bluetooth or WiFi or are they much the same as the WiFi is a bite more expensive.

We have beta-version of OBDLink MX WiFi and normal version of OBDLink MX bluetooth. Our tests show that WiFi works faster because it has quite stable response time around 5ms, in the meantime, Bluetooth version did show variable response delay in range of 5..30 ms. But these results are not very correct because we tested using quite old china Bluetooth USB dongle that we suspect might cause the delay instability. Otherwise, both BT and WiFi versions seems to much faster and much more stable than any china BT/WiFi adapters, so any of them should be OK.

Also, OBDLink MX WiFi is recommended adapter for FORScan Lite for iPhone that is being released now.
