ELM327 NOT FOUND

Post by CUUDA »

Have read through several threads here and found nothing pertaining to my issue. I have the Bluetooth ELM327 like this,
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2013-min ... fgodcSsA6g
And this Bluetooth dongle,
http://www.ebay.com/itm/190799046290?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT

The obd adapter shows to be connected in Bluetooth settings in my laptop however when I attempt to connect through For scan it will check WiFi then cycle through several com ports then a popup appears showing no ELM device found!

This is driving me nuts here!

I have a 2003 F350 with the 6.0 Powerstroke that is dead. I need to see the values on the IPR and ICP sensors as well as HPOP (high pressure oil pump) pressure.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We can only advise to check connection to ELM327 using some utility like STNTerm (attached).

Connect ELM327 and pair it with the laptop. Look for COM port number at device properties. Then run STNTerm and try to connect to the port on 38400. If connected, click on the ATI button. If everything is ok, you should see something like this:

Standard problem on pairing is that ELM327 may require to enter a pair code (usually something simple like 0000, 1111 or 1234 - depends on device), and connection will not work until the right code is entered.

If it works as displayed above, then close STNTerm and run FORScan immediately. Go to settings page and enter the same COM por number and baud rate and try to connect. If still doesn't work, please send us FORScan internal logs as described here: http://forscan.org/contactus.html

Thank you!

Ended up requiring a simple password. Was "1234".
