2017 Lincoln Continental Firmware/As-Build Data Request

Post by fatcam328 »

I have tinkered with and successfully updated many modules but I’m having an issue with 3: DDM (Driver Door Module), PDM (Passenger Door Module), and the ACM (Audio Control Module). AND of course I replaced my computer and forgot to save my backups so I do not have the original As-Build data. The Forscan “Factory” firmware/asbuild data does not fix anything. My goal is to locate actual factory data to send to the modules to see if that is a solid fix.

Issues I have with the DDM and PDM: windows will not initialize.

Issues I have with the ACM: post update sound quality diminished, especially “chimes,” everything that come through the passenger door speaker sounds crackled.

Any help is appreciated.

I’ll verify with the link tonight when I get home but isn’t that the same source Forscan uses? Forscan will populate data “Factory” as-build data but it doesn’t help the problem.

The link gives you access to download all the settings your car was programmed with when it was built to restore everything to factory state. This gives you the "actual factory data". The one you talk about only populates that module, but not others that may need to be changed to have that particular function. Have a look at the IPC or the BCM (not the Asbuilt). There may be a setting for climate on screen by simply turn on or off and clicking on write.
There are many programming functions available in that way.

So far I checked a few modules including the 3 that I’m having issues with and the Forscan “factory” loaded values line up with the Ford Service website download. I’m thinking with as many options as the Lincoln came with certain things must not match the configuration this car was in. Or something may have been replaced at one point? I’m thinking it will take a trip to Ford unless I can find a similar car to compare with.

I have the exact same problem. Messed up with the Asbuilt data without backing it up first, and now only the front windows work, but only if i flash the ddm and pdm firmware first.

If i do the "Load factory Asbuilt" in Forscan for both modules, the windows only open 2 inches at a time, but if i do the firmware flash procedure the front windows start to work as it should, but not the rear ones.

Somehow the firmware flash restore the correct Asbuilt for front windows, but not the rear windows. So, it´s really weird, that the factory Asbuilt has wrong values, and the firmware only has the correct values for the front windows.

It’s so frustrating because it’s the first time I didn’t have my backups in order…
I haven’t had a chance to mess with it further but I’m considering getting a year of Fords IDS to see if I can get further with that. I’ll update if I can figure anything out!

In my MKZ. If the APIM gets reset for any reason (radio shuts-off to save power, flashing the APIM, Replace battery and even going into the hidden radio test menu), my sound goes to crap until I drive it for a few minutes.

I didn't read the whole thread but when I got my car, the rear windows wouldn't auto roll up nor would they roll up when I held the lock on the keyfob. Only the fronts did. I had this issue constantly on my Dodge Magnum where I would have to reset them by either fully manually rolling the window down and holding the button for a few seconds then the opposite, or the full thing in reverse. After doing this once, I've never had an issue.
