20 Escape PSCM No FW update function after replacement

Post by drewphillips »

2020 Escape I have replaced the PSCM after the vehicle was damaged in a collision. Part was sourced from OEM dealer. I'm using version 2.4.6 with paid subscription, OBDLink EX adapter, and suitable power supply. I now have U2100 in PSCM. My problem is that in the "Configuration and Programming" tab the function "Module firmware update" is not listed for PSCM. I only have "Module Configuration (As BUILT format)" and "Module Configuration" available for PSCM. The "Firmware update" function is however still available for other modules. I checked Forscan before replacing the PSCM and at that time, PSCM Module firmware update was available. What am I missing or where have I gone wrong? Any help is appreciated.

Have you deleted old profiles?if so try to use newer Forscan versions 2.4.7,2.4.8 or Beta one.

I have deleted the old profiles but no change. I do not have access to any version of Forscan newer then what I have installed now.

Contact FORScan They will likely ask you to send in the dump.bin file and the log file as per the instructions here https://forscan.org/contactus.html

I appreciate the suggestions. Ultimately, I used FDRS to program the PSCM without issue.

The OBDLink EX adapter is a great adapter but it is not a J2534-2 device
Obviously the model in question is relatively new and operates within the CAN FD network structure.
FDRS is the only solution or the VCM III with an active subscription.
CAN FD is one of the newer communication protocols, noted for being faster, more reliable and more secure.
Modern scan tools for shop use will require a CAN FD adapter.
Elm devices are not ready or will never work with the Flexible Data-Rate.
