Focus mk4 PCM engine version change

Post by raphau »

Hello, I've got 1.0 Ecoboost 125hp and I'd like to change it to 140hp. Do you know which PCM address is responsible for engine version/type?

The engine block is different, the head gasket is thicker.
The exhaust valves have different part numbers.
Anything you read is all B.S.
The PCM will require a performance flash.

When the engine is destroyed, write back for a Factory Service Manual for the repair.
Then it will be transmission changes and updates.

In the thread you mentioned I can see "125 & 140hp on the Mk8 are the same engine with different mappings"
I also read somewhere that in Focus mk4 125 and 140hp engine is the same, only in 100hp it's is different

Just have a decent remap done, I don't know where you are, but in UK we have Superchips which can boost 100, 125 & 140 to 157BHP, safely and reliably, without the need for hardware changes

Someone else did it for a Transit, just with forscan.
Do a little more research before trying anything, just to make sure.
The mappings are different, no doubt about it, and could require a pcm reflash if they are embedded in the firmware. In this case you need to find another focus with 140hp and similar options, read the firmware versions it has installed and try to see if forscan has access to them. If not... option 2: stage 1 tunning ~ 400 euros.
If you`re not able to find any info about this on the forum, it means no one succeeded yet with forscan.
