Sync 3 Backup Camera White Guide Lines

Post by Ripped »

I upgraded the sync 2.0 in my wife's 2011 Edge to sync 3 hardware with 3.4 software and everything is working except the backup camera white guide lines. It didn't have them with sync 2.0, but I know sync 3.4 has them in my 2017 F150.

Has anyone done this upgrade and managed to get the white guide lines (pictured in the attachment) working?

Does anyone know if I need to upgrade the camera or is it just a software mod in Forscan?

It's not part of Sync or MFT.
The camera has to have the correct firmware for the guide lines to show up.

Camera must have a special line connected, this line is a LIN bus.
I have Focus MK4, where this line is going to BdyCM module. And when I was retrofitting the camera, I had to enable camera in BdyCM and do a procedure "Testing module communication".
So, the lines has nothing got to do with Sync, It is just showing analogue signal. Lines are generated in camera, probably you need to upgrade camera as well.

I’m dealing with the same problem except that I have a 2014 Explorer Sport with Sync 2 and I replaced the stock backup cam that crapped out with a cheap Amazon one. Lines look identical to your photo.
