Connection Troubles on 2012 Fiesta

Post by Giangoo75 »

Hello everybody,
I'm an italian Ford Fiesta owner and I'm having problems with my modified ELM327.
First I got a "Bad clone " warning so I dowgrade to 2.2.7 software version.
Bad clone warning disappeared but I'm not able to connect to my car (2012 Ford Fiesta tdci 95hp - the one with DPF filter).
With or without phisical connection between ELM327 and car ODB, I get this error message: " Please check if ignition key is in position II and retry"

Any advice?
Many thanks in advance

Did your ELM327 ever work before? If possible try it with another car.
Also you can try other software like Torque.
If all fails throw away ELM327 and get a working unit. ;)

Unfortunately it seems you really have a bad clone :(

Version prior to 2.2.10 had no "bad clone" check, but it doesn't mean the problem with adapter doesn't exist.

Thanks for Your feedback guys,
This is my first attemp with this modified ELM327 clone ( FYI is made by KKMOON) . I tought about a software version problem; I can test it with my 2015 Ford Focus but probably You are both right: I have to trash this unit and get a good one.
Probably a Viaken...not so expensive but looks good.

Thank You again
