I have recently been struggling with getting FORScan to succesfully update the firmware on my PCM.
I am using a VLinker FS with current firmware, on FORScan 2.4.8 beta. All settings are set per the recommendations on this forum.
I needed to update the VID block in order to replace the PCM in my vehicle. I was required to update the calibration and strategy to different versions as the current versions were not downloadable.
When programming, everything works fine until it attempts to flash strategy #3 after erasing the block. At this point the PCM will not function and I cannot go any further. I attempted to load only the problem block and it immediately fails.
I am stuck. I tried wiring the PCM directly to the vlinker FS and the result is identical. I now have a bricked PCM until I can figure out how to write the final block.
Loading Firmware Failed!

You have made a big mistake. Where you say everything works fine until it attempts to flash strategy #3 is incorrect.cam_e_ron wrote: Sat Sep 30, 2023 3:41 am I have recently been struggling with getting FORScan to succesfully update the firmware on my PCM.

There were error warnings earlier that the files you needed were not found.
You didn't have the files needed & then proceeded to erase the PCM. This is what happens when users don't read forum topics before starting, don't understand the very clear warnings about the dangers of doing this & also ignore the warning the program gives you.

Re: Loading Firmware Failed!
We have fixed the problem (answered by email and sent the test build). Unfortunately these old ECUs have a lot of specifics in programming, some cases are quite rare. The fix will be included in v2.4.9 beta.

I have ran into the same issue. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!oldtinfords wrote: Sat Sep 30, 2023 4:32 amYou have made a big mistake.
