Hi everyone looking for some advice please on using the Forscan software with the ELM 327 tool with switch. I have a 2011 Ford Galaxy 1.6tdci with the duratorq engine.
Been experiencing DPf issues not performing regeneration of any kind, tried doing forced regeneration on 2 separate occasions got to the end and came up with error message saying 'static regeneration has failed. Static regeneration complete although soot load is still above the maximum level."
I have removed the DPf and thoroughly cleaned both the soot and Ash from the DPF, dried and refitted. Reset DPF learned values. Also removed differential pressure sensor and hoses, checked for any signs of damage, cracks holes swelling etc. And tested the actual sensor and all seem to be OK.
Just wondering why on my Forscan I cannot bring up DPF soot load values, or other useful DPF values. Others show values such as time since last regeneration, can't even see the differential pressure sensor readings values. Have voltage for the sensor but no kpa values.
But frustrating can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Is your tool capable of performing all tasks or is it only doing simple OBDII standard stuff? Can you do anything advanced with your setup?

Thanks for your reply, think I can do most stuff. I have performed a static forced regeneration twice, cleared codes, reset learned values. Can see all modules. Just in the PCM the main module I cannot see anywhere in the list any DPF functions or values etc.

I've Ford Galaxy zetec 2012 1.6 tdci and same issues.. can't see soot level or dfp option in forscan and static regeneration always failed on every occasion saying exactly as described " soot level too high" but has no fault code..If anyone figured out this please reply.

Watch O Riely on you tube - lots of vids different makes re DPF.
The vapourisor is easy to test.
My van 2012 2.2 Mk7 E5 seemed to have problems re blocked/partially blocked DPF.
Using Forscan reset DPF = low soot count. This soot count has increased over time but the differential pressure has stayed within limits.
O Riely shows the soot count is worked out by the PCM or other module - the differential pressure is more important.
One youtube video finds the catalytic had disintergrated.
The vapourisor is easy to test.

We have a 2014 2.0l diesel and I struggled for a few weeks trying to rectify the dpf fault, in the end I bought a brand new dpf to fit it was about 600£ I think, but in the mean time I was talking to an engine tuner about having my BMW retuned and we got talking about the Galaxy dpf issue, to cut a long and very expensive story short i took the DPF off the car, took all the sensors out of the DPF then smashed the insides out with a club hammer and crow bar, re fitted the sensors then refitted the DPF to the car, got the engine tuned to stage 1 with DPF and EGR deleted and the car has been a dream ever since, done 2 runs from kent to Newcastle and returned about 55 to 65 mpg down to 45 mpg when we picked the speed up for a bit, I also saved over 300£ once I took the new DPF back for a refund.
The engine tune was 275£
If you do this dont drive the car untill its tuned or you will get loads of blue smoke if the vaporizer is working as it throws diesel in, then you get an engine code and limp mode, the tuner will come to your house so get it booked then do the DPF in time for them coming, then when the tune is done blank off the egr this isnt 100% needed as it will be coded out of the car but it stops the build up of gunge and crud.
you could drive a short distance to get to a tuner if it was unavoidable but pull the vaporizer fuse first, you may get limp mode but the tuner will sort this
