Hello,
I wanted to update my Sync 3 from version 2.4.xxx to 3.0.xxx. I went the official Ford way, created the exFat Pendrive and so on. The update message was on the screen but after 1.5h i had to turn the car off. Officialy Ford said it will take max. 30 minutes. After i turned it on again after few hours it said update complete, update will be available after next start. On the next start my APIM bricked I think, no music, no bluetooth, no usb working anymore. The Display activates sometimes its backlight, but thats it. With forscan I can communicate with the APIM.
My idea was to buy a 10 amp battery charger (one with a power supply option, so no dc ripple loading curve, just constant voltage) and to reprogram the APIM.
Any hints or ideas what i should try ? Right now it looks like this in the firmware update window
Otherwise I would do it like in this post:
