Hi,
Thanks for creating FORScan. I have found it useful in maintaining my 6 Ford vehicles.
My 2007 Explorer Sport Trac Instrument Cluster failed and I obtained a new one from the same year vehicle (though from a Limited, I have an XLT).
I had one working key and obtained a Strattec key as the second key and a Keyless2Go as the third key.
I could not directly add either new key, but both had B1601 when validated.
I ran the erase all keys option. I tried to add the 3rd key during this operation. The original and the Strattec key were able to start the vehicle, the third was not.
I did not run a module initialization.
I tried to add the 3rd key using the add a key option.
It reported success but WARN'd that it did not increase the programmed key count.
In fact, it lowered the programmed key count by 1!
I tried it again and it came back with a ERR / Failed status.
I tried running the erase key program again but the programmed key count will not change, but it now has 0 keys programmed and will not change.
Any advice on how to proceed from here would be greatly appreciated.

Re: How to use PATS Module Initialization function
I contacted FORScan support about this and they got back to me right away. They suspected that the Unlimited Key Mode enabled was causing the anomaly that they had never seen before. They have not implemented the functionality behind this mode and referred me to this article which explains it. https://www.ffguide.net/spare_key_progr ... s-325.html
I followed their advice and disabled the unlimited key mode. I was able to erase and add 2 keys. I then did the module initialization. The 2 keys started my vehicle.

Re: How to use PATS Module Initialization function
Hi,
having replaced VP44 electronic module on a 2003 Transit, i am getting code P1665 and i am unable to initialise modules as the process ends with an error. The first part goes fine, then it wants to clear the RIM and i click OK but it ends a few seconds after with "Service Procedure has been interupted".
i am using a VINT TT55502, i've tried several versions of Forscan, and still the same.
My question is:
could the code P1665 be because of a pump module that is not initialised or is the P1665 (Pump communications fault) the reason why it won't follow through with the initialisation?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
John.

Re: How to use PATS Module Initialization function
After having read all your discriptions and posts I still got a question.
I wonna do engine swap from 1.8L to 2.0L including ecu cause of VVT.
Ecu and pats of 1.8L configuration is working fine, two keys are programmed.
Now, for swaping to 2.0L ecu (no key) I have to initialize it to get pats running.
Since my keys are programmed for 1.8L ecu, will it be possible to run the initializing process (incode/outcode) in this configuration?
If so, do I have to erase and reprogramm all keys afterwards?
Tanks a lot for your support.
Oli
