Offline Table/Dashboard/Graph configure

Post by Automate »

A feature request.

It would be nice to be able to configure PIDs for Tables/Dashboards/Graphs off-line (while disconnected). You would have to connect at least once to the car and let FORScan find all the modules and available PIDs and save them to a profile. Then even when disconnected you could configure which PIDs to display. This would make it so you don't need to sit with the car running searching through hundreds of PIDs to find the ones you want to display.

Current design doesn't allow to do it. Availability of PIDs directly depends on model, so in order to let user create a profile FORScan must known the vehicle the profile is created for. At this moment it is possible only when FORScan is connected to the vehicle, and there is no other way to let it know.

But this feature will be a part of another, greater feature we are going to impement in some future: save/restore vehicle session (including all on-board network configuration, PIDs etc) and also manual vehicle selection (without connection to the vehicle). These features are implemented in professional scanners and we are going to implement it too.

It would be nice however to be able to select which PID's get graphed in the oscilloscope - if there are more than 8 PID's observed and I wanted to see only some of them graphed (instead of the first 8), it should be possible (both in online and offline modes).
