Fuel injectors offset Mondeo MK3 TDDI

Post by whistler »

Hi, I have just recently installed FORScan and am now testing my Mondeo MK3 2,0L TDDI built in 2001. The car as such runs smooth, has sufficient power, but the increased fuel consumption bothers me a lot. I am suspecting injectors so thats why I tested with FORScan.

However I am not sure how to interpret the data

Injectors C and D are pretty stable - offset values for D are usually around -0.175 up to -0.220. Offset values for C are -0.020 up to -0.040.

Injector A is always at 0.000 no values beeing read there at all. Is that normal?

Injector B seems to be in trouble, oscilating between +0.200 up to a peak of +1.200

So I will most likely just go ahead replacing injector B, can anyone advice which cylinder it is? And, is it normal to have injector A always at 0?

Yes, we believe it is normal. At least it is so on all of TDDI engines we saw. It seems offset for other cylinders is relative to the INJ A.

Injector B is cylinder 3. However, we strongly not recommended to replace anything just based on computer diagnostic results. These results can be used to suspect some component and subsequent thorough check of it. In your case we would recommend to make leakdown test, better for all 4 injectors.

Hi. What value offests is correct when engine is in high duty (wot & over 2k rpm)? Values goes to 0 or goes freeze? In my mk3 goes freeze, in other 90hp goes to 0...

The offset values are only available in idle (around 800rpm). There are no values to read under load...
At least that is what i heard from the TDCI.
