Genuine adaptors??

Post by Darren »

Has anyone tried these adaptors?

They state that they're all genuine, but then they all look similar to the clones out there. The USB and WiFi versions both say they're 1.4b, and the bluetooth is v2.1

Just wondered if anyone had one before I take the plunge. Fed up of being burnt by crappy Chinese clones. Even when I order a v1.5, they now send a v2.1 clone which doesn't work.

Also, would it feasibly be possible to just swap the IC for a genuine one, or is there more to it than that?

Not at all, they're both almost double the price, more so for the MX.

That and getting them in the UK is a complete rip-off due to OTT shipping costs.

I see. You weren't kidding, a MX from Amazon.co.uk is $205 USD. You could probably get it from Amazon.com in the US with shipping for £80 or so.

Did you try contacting Scantool.net to get a quote from them?

Scantool has product distributor in UK:

www.scantool-direct.co.uk

It is still expensive here, though (99 GPB = ~160 USD)

Sorry, we don't know - had no chance to try this device, and nobody of our users reported it.
