FORScan for Windows Phone (Windows Mobile)
I searched but couldn't find anything... Is there going to be a FORScan app for Windows Phone (Windows Mobile)? Thanks
Re: FORScan for Windows Phone (Windows Mobile)
Yes, we planned to develop Windows Phone version after iOS and Android. But developing and support new plaffoms is quite expensive and affects primary development very signifcantly. So after iOS and Android versions it was decided to temporarily freeze the further porting (to Windows Phone, Linux, Mac OS etc) until the moment we will reach our primary objectives in main development. At this moment these goals are: vehicle configuration management and ECU reprogramming, acceptable set of service functions and tests.
Another reason is that WIndows Phone in 2015 still has 2.7% of smartphone market, in comparsion to Android's 48% and iOS' 42%.

iOS is NOT even close to 42%. Maybe in some parts of the world, but not Worldwide. Android rules
Market share 2015 according to IDC:
Android: 79,4%.
iOS: 16,4%.
Windows Phone: 3,2%.

P.s. Have bought the Android version. Works fine on Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Tab S 10.5". Both running Lollipop.

Re: FORScan for Windows Phone (Windows Mobile)
Do we have a need to discuss about relativities of Smartphone-OS?
FORScan Team says: Windows-Phone is not planned now.
So, please accept.
Perhaps you can buy a second phone with Android (working fine)
Maybe we all can accept: Software-Development and testing takes a lot of time.
Last part of development had been: Mobile to IOS and Android.
This Time is lost for development in general System - IMHO.
A lot of funktions are requested by Users for initial Windows-Version.
Please let Team decide to develop Windows-Phone version.
If it take a long time and you won't to wait: Buy a Notebook, or Android Phone/Tablet , or a Apple Phone/Tablet, but don't try to retard the Team in normal development - new Core and new options for all users.
Kind Regards
Stefan

Re: FORScan for Windows Phone (Windows Mobile)
I want to say that I read somewhere that there is going to be a way for developers to port Android Apps to Windows Mobile. This may not be happening until Windows 10 is released...
Re: FORScan for Windows Phone (Windows Mobile)
This might be of some help.
Microsoft are apparently creating tools that will allow compiling of android apps for windows phone..
http://www.techtimes.com/articles/49681 ... mobile.htm
So the android app may end up being the windows phone app. Apparently the tools are also compatible with Objective C as well, so Microsoft are gunning for the ability of both Android and iOS apps getting easily ported to windows.
might make things easier for you guys, no need to write a new version, just convert one of the ones you have. I wouldn't say it will up your customer numbers by a third.. but a few would buy it.
cheers
