PATS Problem with 2008 BFIII Falcon

Post by Phildo »

Vehicle: 2008 Ford Falcon BFIII station wagon
(In 2008, the Falcon FG was released. However, Ford continued to make the BF-series station wagon until September 2010 as the BFIII, whereas the sedan stopped at BFII before changing to the FG.)

This car refused to start this afternoon. A mechanic did some diagnosis and concluded that there was a problem with the immobiliser.

I figured that I’d have a go at resetting the keys with FORScan.

I wasn’t successful.

A message appeared: “Timed access PATS requires the diagnostic tester to enter into a runtime delay before Security Access is allowed. Continue anyway?”

I clicked on ok to continue.

I would then get an error message: Service procedure has been interrupted, please contact developers.”

I tried this a few times, but got the same error message each time.

I then tried to do a PCM reset. This gave the error message: “Service procedure is not supported, please contact developers.”

I had the extended licence in place:

And that was it. The car has been left, parked outside the workshop for the night.

Looks like I’ve stuffed it up, and will now need to pay an auto-electrician to reset the keys.

Both of the keys that I used have been used to start the car previously.

Diagnostic Trouble Codes:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Code: P1260 - THEFT Detected, Vehicle Immobilized.

Status:

- Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC

Module: Powertrain Control Module

Diagnostic Trouble Code details

This DTC may be caused by :

Any suggestions?

We believe your vehicle requires coded access instead of timed (in contrast to earlier Falcons), this problem was fixed some time ago. Please install latest version 2.2.6 (just released today) and run the Module Initialization function with (not necessary to program the keys again). Please note you will need access to incode/outcode calculator, so if you have no one, please read this article first:

Hi, to all.

For users who do not want to use the service of autokeyprog.com, can use the software TM100
from the official site Flyobd.com/tm100-en.htm.
Can use it without the key programmer. Not all programs works, but the IDS (Ford, Mazda)
work fine.
Can change the language to english. Excuse me, english is not my native language.
