engine speed synchronization state

Post by william »

Hi,
forscan has a pid for engine speed synchronization state with values of yes or no.

Could someone explain what this pid is used for.
Thanks.

This parameter indicates if the CKP and CMP signals are in synchronization. Some reference (occasionally found using google):

It is possible to catch the synchronization using very fast adapter (fast USB or J2534) in conjunction with special block mode that allows to retrieve data with very high rate (not available in FORScan v2 yet, although was available in v1)

Thanks for the information, when I searched google the only information I could find regarding engine speed synchronization was to do with gearbox.
Cheers.
