Hello everybody,
I am trying to resolve a fault with the parking sensors on my wife’s car. This is a hard fault as the parking sensor button on the dash flashes constantly when the ignition is turned on.
The car is an October 2006 C-Max 1.6 diesel auto.
I am using a Dell D620 Latitude running Windows XP, the laptop was purchased and is only used for diagnostics. I am running Forscan 2.2.10 beta, connecting to the car using an OBDLink SX USB cable. Under the connection tab I have selected FTDI as the connection type. The cable was purchased from Gendan in the UK as a package with their Engine Check Pro software.
Both Engine Check Pro and Forscan will connect to the car finding all the modules on the HS CAN bus. Forscan correctly identifies the model of car and the chassis number.
However the MS CAN bus modules are not found. What am I doing wrong? What settings should I make to ensure detection of the MS CAN bus?
Like others, I purchased a cheap ELM327 cable to start with and got the same result. I purchased the OBDLink cable expecting to have better luck.

Unable to connect to MSCAN bus.
Re: Unable to connect to MSCAN bus.
Go to this link http://www.obdlink.com/mxbt/ and select the compare button. Only the ODBLink MX supports MSCAN

Re: Unable to connect to MSCAN bus.
You are quite right, I bought the wrong one.
I shall modify my ELM327 and report back.
Thank you for letting me know where I went wrong.

Re: Unable to connect to MSCAN bus.
Modified ELM327 cable to add a switch. Successfully connected to MSCAN bus and read off code C1740.
Replaced inner front right parking sensor and cleared the fault.
Got there in the end.
