Ford S-Max 2.0 TDCI 01/2010 Injecor Correction Values

Post by SuhoMeso »

Hello everybody

I ask you for support in my case as my car is "consuming" currently about 2,5 to 3 liter more per 100km.
I exchanged 2 injectors as they were defective. Now i need to set the correction values. For this reason i bought a ELM327 ODB2 Adapter and i installed the Forscan for windows.
Connecting works fine. It's asking also which model i have as there was a modell upgrade in 05/2010. Very nice! But when i click on Change fuel injector correction factor the software asks me only for the identification mark (In german Kennzeichen) So i can choose from 4 to 6. My is 5. OK, done. But there is not opening a window like in your nice instruction where i can enter the correction values which are printed on the top housing of the injector.

Can someone help me please?
I will add also the log file and the other data file to this.

Thank you in advance for support.

Cheers!

The way injectors are coded depends on type of fuel system and controller. In your case, there are no individual codes programmed. Instead of, class of injector are used. If you replace few injectors, you should get ones of the same class. You need to change class only if all 4 injectors are changed and they have another class.

Actually, FORScan should display you all the info about it before you start the coding, here is a screenshot:

Thank you for your feedback. I'm little bit confused as my mechanic was able to change the correction values for each injector. I don't know which tool he used but i know for sure that Bosch also only could change the injector class.

If only the class is needed, how can the pcm know how much fuel to inject? As there are still manufacturing tolerances from injektor nozzle to injecktor nozzle. This is somehow confusing. I would appreciate to read your expertise feedback.

Thank you in advance.

We are not experts in diesel fuel systems, actually. But your vehicle should be equipped with Siemens SID-206 PCM with DW10B injectors that doen't require and accept individual codes, only classes. We have doubts they have any individual codes on their head, only class digit.

We don't know how it works exactly, but suspect that injectors when manufactured are calibrated and corresponding class is assigned depending on result of calibration.
