Firmware update for 2005 Ford Freestyle

Post by cutter4320 »

I'm running Forscan V2.4.6 beta with a paid license and am connecting with a Vlinker FS cable. Under the configuration and programming tab I only get the "As Built" option for my my TCM that I need to update firmware on due to replacing a failed TCM. Am I doing something wrong or is this vehicle not supported for firmware updates?

Use the recommended adapter with the laptop, laptop powered to house/shop current AND a clean stable power supply on the battery.

2005 Freestyle, Montego and Five Hundred are notorious for flash issues with aftermarket equipment, even with Ford FJDS/J2534. May want to source OEM programming for this particular year.
