Appreciate any help in obtaining the calibration file for Taurus X 2008. I just obtained 2-days IDS license, but the site download doesn't work. FORScan listed as AVAILABLE, but seems like the file doesn't exist when attempted to download. Here's the info:
PCM - Powertrain Control Module
Part number: 8F9A-12A650-CD
Calibration level: 8F9A-12A650-CD (latest known: 8F9A-12A650-CE)
Strategy : KNBD1F5
Hardware type: 8G1A-12B684-FA
Copyright Ford Motor Co. 2007
VIN: 1FMDK03W88GA11483
Thank you so much.

Well Don't thank me yet but go to Motorcraftservice(https://www.motorcraftservice.com/Repro ... alibration)! That site lists all the calibrations that have been performed! There are drop down fields where you chose the Vehicle, the Model Year and Engine Displacement!FixOrRepairDailies wrote: Sun Oct 22, 2023 1:44 am Appreciate any help in obtaining the calibration file for Taurus X 2008. Filling in your vehicle parameters should load a page that lists all the calibrations ever available for an 08 Taurus X with 3.5!
In your Case, Inputting what you have posted yields a "Not found" at the DFSM site Here: https://www.motorcraftservice.com/diagn ... goryId=303(See Screen below and use the Calibration files link)
You may have to go through the "Chose Country(USA) and Language screen to get to either of the sites above and in the screen shot(Screen below opens under the IDS Overview)!
That file not being available at that site is the most likely reason for the file download failing as it appears that those files have been superseded and removed from the database(Not unusual actually)!
I use a "Patched" version of IDS86 which has a "Manual Vehicle entry in which you can enter PCM part number and Tear tag numbers in a manual session(Does need the VCM2 connected to the computer but not to the vehicle)!
The first strategy file that showed up using manual vehicle entry with the tear tag and/or PCM P/N as available for this vehicle at the above DSFM data base was for a PCM P/N ,(down toward the bottom of the Calibrations list), of 8U7A-12A650-AMC with a Tear Tag or Catchword of ZMD2 and shows a strategy file name of ICGH4B2!
Remember you must have a Good strong and stable Internet connection to download any calibration files if you are doing this while in car! If you are using Wifi you must be close to your WIFI router!
Otherwise go to the DFSM site and download them manually to the IDS Calibration folder and/or FORScan Calibration folder
I had to do this manual entry in Version 86 to find and install a much later Strategy from the 05 F150 5.4 Calibration list that was available(the latest "Known Calibration" FORScan was reporting was not available) when I managed to Brick the PCM on the 05 F150
I don't think you can do a similar type of manual PCM update with FORScan using the Custom mode yet( or At least I could not when I "Fixed my mistake" on the 05 F150, another long story I may tell at some point and also remember the .phf strategy file Update available in FORScan 2.4.8Beta is "VERY EXPEREMENTAL")!
You did not state what Version IDS you licensed for the 2 days(assuming you would have to be using a VCM2 Adapter) I have been advised that there may be no manual entry choice in some of the later versions and it seems a special trick needs to be used to start what is know as the Manual Entry or what some have called the "Blank Path Process" in order to install a calibration other that what was in the PCM from the factory(look up FordTechMakuloco on you tube who has a video on how he does it to install used PCM's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hhk7Wg0 ... FjZW1lbnQg)
Maybe a long winded way around and maybe it helps? Edit to add the FordTechMakuloco link!

Thank you for your long-winded informative reply! And links!
The IDS version is R130.01.
I've written to Ford about subscribing and not being able to access. I feel like scammed. They should post qualifiers.
ps. I really appreciate FORScan though!

Most of us here have run up against calibration files not being available many times! Ford seems to remove the oldest calibrations and I have Noticed FORScan has in the latest 2.4.xBeta's change logs said they have removed the Firmware file Download function because they can't access to the "Dealer connection database" the way they used to so we are kind-iv on our own with finding firmware files with FORScan!
Remember the Firmware function for these older FEPS and .phf file based PCM's is still experimental(again I may relate when it becomes a less painful memory how I found out the hard way)!
Again I have to assume you are using a VCM2 or 3 adapter with the VCI Software 1.0.1.18 if you have used a licensed a copy of IDS R130.01(currently available version)
There is a Calibration DVD embedded in the IDS 81 install disc that covers these late 2000 to early 2010's model years and is the last IDS version where the calibration files were included with the IDS installation! It is a Windows install executable embedded in the IDS 81 installation disc that does include the strategy ICGH4B2 File I Found(I have copy of c81 installed)!
Do a search for IDS 81 ISO or IDS 86+ and c81 ISO!
I do not encourage this though as there is a lot of ISO's containing virus and malware scams out there so if you go this way be careful!
Just a little more information that may or may not be helpful?
