Hello,
I was trying to do a PCM update to DB5A-14C204-BK on my 2013 Ford Explorer. Everything was going fine. Then at 53% it failed, it then tried to attempt to do it again but kept on failing. Now the car will not start or anything. I even tried recovery mode. When I try to load the PCM it keeps on asking me to flip the switch on the ODB2 dongle which it already is. Any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks
2013 Explorer PCM Update stopped at 53%

You may have to contact FORScan using the instructions(Scroll up one line for the Support email) here: https://forscan.org/contactus.html#debug_info !Tripods Garage wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2024 2:01 pm Hello,

I Suspect though that if you are using an adapter with an external HS/MS CAN switch they will advise you to ditch it and upgrade to an OBDLink EX or a vLinker FS adapter if they respond at all(Posting the adapter and the 2.4.xx beta version you are using right off the top would have been a help)(latest being 2.4.12Beta as earlier versions had some bugs in PCM programming)!
Make sure you have a good profile from before this happened stored in order to do the recovery as the original calibrations FORScan found will be needed(IE "Unable to read current configuration "Use The configuration stored In profile)
Externally switched ELM327 adapters are not recommended by FORScan for firmware programming and have not been for quite sometime!
FORScan has said in the Past that they will not respond to any firmware support requests by two month trial licenses(Paid One year Support only) or any "bricked" modules recovery requests if any FTDI/ELM327 Based adapter other than the Adapters recommended on the following page have been used: https://forscan.org/download.html
Or will respond if J2534 Passtru adapters like the CarDAQ+3 or a Ford VCM2 have been used!
Give it shot or find someone with a VCM2 and IDS to do a Blank PCM Module PMI reinstall(Have done this in the past). That is all I can advise!
