Re: Ford Focus 2005
Hi there, I’ve seen some of these codes before on a fiesta.
I would start by checking you have what you need at the throttle pedal and the throttle body.
Assuming it’s roughly the same as the fiesta you should find a 6 wire plug on the pedal and also the throttle body.
There should be power/ground signal for each circuit.
Just bear in mind position sensors are often 5v reference but the throttle body actuator circuit is 12v.
If you need any diagrams I might have them on my auto data system. But I would need a few details including make, model, year, engine size, engine code etc to check for diagrams.
Cheers

Re: Ford Focus 2005
Ok, your car has the same engine as my car lol.
Ill go look up the diagram just now, hopefully it’s in there.

Re: Ford Focus 2005
Ok there is two different engine codes to choose from on your car.
It is the AODA or AODB?

Re: Ford Focus 2005
figured it out. diagrams below.
diagram colour coding:
throttle body diagram: the throttle body is A177, motor actuator is M89, throttle position sensor is B169
i had to split the throttle pedal diagram into two halves as it wouldnt fit on the screen: B138 is the pedal sensor

Re: Ford Focus 2005
Thanks for the diagrams, Would also like to know how to recalibrate the throttle, as codes say WOT wide open position. but the throttle is closed.

Re: Ford Focus 2005
Hey, no problem. I think you just reset the pcm learned values.ch66ky wrote: Sun Jan 19, 2025 10:14 pm Thanks for the diagrams, Would also like to know how to recalibrate the throttle, as codes say WOT wide open position. but the throttle is closed.
The live data should show the requested vs the actual position.
So throttle pedal is the requested amount and throttle body is the actual position of the flapper in the body.
The live data may show the pedal sensor is guff. But before writing it off use the diagram to ensure the pedal and body both have all they need to function.
Unfortunately the pedal sensor and the body are common issues.
I’ve even had to replace the plug and pigtail going to a throttle body before because the female pins were mangled by some idiot with a multimeter.
Looking at the codes it could be anything. Even a minor short in the 5v ref brining the voltage down. I think it is saying on one of the codes that when the pedal is at WOT not both sensors agree on that, the voltage reading from one is lower or higher than expected. Check the 5v ref actually has 5v with engine on.
If you need anything else just ask I may have the data or whatever it is.
Cheers
Re: Ford Focus 2005
Thanks For the Reply Boosted, will check those things. so minor short, will check all the plug harnesses. will get back to you ... cheers..
