08 ford escape hybrid battery rebalance

Hi,
Can someone help out on the correct procedure to rebalance the HVB. Does the car need to stay running the entire time or let it shut on and off like normal? Will a battery code POA81 stop it from working? just a basic procedure to follow so I know I'm doing it correctly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The hybrid battery cooling fan code will not stop the rebalance. I recommend changing the cooling fan because you're overheating the battery and this will shorten its life. Follow the steps in the software and you'll have no problems.

do you know if a 05 battery will fit in a 08? just plug and play? any reprogramming? this will save me from buying the battery fans right away.

It will fit - same battery but I would question the life of an older battery

I get what you're saying. the 05 battery is good, but the car is totaled. I've already did fans in the 05 and the jumper wire, save $500 on fans right now. I'm glad it's just plug and play switch between the 05-08. thanks for the reply.

The only difference between the batteries is the 08 does not have the power inverter to boost the HV from the 12V
If you look the 05 has 1 extra connector on the left front & the 08 is capped in that location
Inside the battery the connectors for the inverter are taped up & zip tied to the internal harness
Ford stopped putting the inverter in as a cost saving measure

the 08 I have has the push button by the dash but nothing plugged in at the rear battery spot for the charger. Could it be wired differently? Haven't pushed the button on side of the dash yet to see if it works. Could the 08 i have just have the jumper wired differently? goanna put the 05 battery in and see how it goes. what could happen? throw codes?

Sorry, my mistake it was in 09 that they stopped putting in the inverter.
05 & 08 have the exact same wiring
Pins 12 & 16 of the big connector with the bolt in the center

the 08 charger is wired through the large connector? The 05 has a separate plug in for the charger? correct.? If so I would need to wire to #12/16 in the 05 battery for the charge function to work correctly. thanks in advance.
