I have a 1998 Lincoln Town Car. Mechanic said it needed a new ECU/PCM. He had it for two months and we got it back because he could not find an ECU. I bought one and installed it. When started Forscan went into the PATs module to program the keys. It showed three keys for that ECU. I did "erase and program keys". Went through okay. Car will not start. Turns over but not start. Have the codes P1260 & B2139. I tried reprogramming one more time and it still doesn't work. Using the OBDLink EX FORScan OBD Adapter. There is also a code B1352 & U1135 but I was sitting with the door open so it might be from it. When I got back into PATs Programming it does show that 2 keys were programmed.
Please help and let me know if there is anything I am missing so it will program correctly. Used OBDLink EX FORScan OBD Adapter.
I want to make sure...did it erase the keys for the old ECU as well when I did this?
Would appreciate any help.
PATS Programming B2139 P1260 Not Starting
Re: PATS Programming B2139 P1260 Not Starting
Look for "Parameter Reset" in the HEC and perform that. Then try and program two keys.
PARAMETER RESET — HEC Clear the PCM ID Stored in the HEC That Matches the HEC PCM

I will try it later today and update my post. Thanks for replying!
Re: PATS Programming B2139 P1260 Not Starting
That worked. Also had emailed support and they gave a great detailed response. Had to do module initialization then program keys. The instrument cluster is primary and PATS secondary. So should have done IC first and sounds like would not had to reprogram keys. Since I had already program the keys, I had to start over. Do module initialization, PCM, then program keys again. Worked and car runs like it did. Saved me around $1,500 which is what the mechanic had wanted to do the PCM replacement.
I have a few DTCs showing something about the ignition but think it is good for now
