P2BF2 Fuel control system 'B' too lean bank 2

Post by Jorgeblancarte »

I have a explorer 2020 hybrid with 3.3l v6. I had the check engine. When scanned showed P2BF2 lean only in one bank. Took it to ford dealership stays 2 days and give it back saying they didn't found the problem. Just erase the code. Comming back home check engine came again.
I already replaced the o2 sensors but still have the code. No misfire no other codes no rough idling no lost power only more fuel consumption. After erasing code everything works great and no code after couple days or startups. When i notice the electric mode in hybrid driving stop working the check engine came out.
Help please

Hey there,
Firstly o2 sensors should only be replaced with original parts or other high quality. If they were cheap get proper ones.

A lean code can only be caused by so many things, here's a few examples;
1) air leak on the intake side
2) O2 sensor
3) injector fault
4) fuel pressure fault on that bank

Have you read the live data? You need to see the data to know if it is lean and if so how bad is it? Typically rich/lean codes only come up when the system is +/- >25% fuel trim required to achieve lamda.

Often the evap system is the cause but you have v engine so I don't suspect that as it would effect both banks unless the manifolds were independant. And if they were you'd likely hve two maf's also which would bring it into question.

Anyway rambling now, look at the data and see what it says. That is the starting point.
Then check lambda works ok, can run it rich with propane, and run it lean by repeatedly pumping brake pedal.
