forscan key loading??

Post by maverick62 »

Cant get the downloaded key to open and attach to the forscan.. sent to docs opens with a bunch of numbers and letters 6 rows
Windows 11 pro WTF ( how many digits or letters in these codes? ) Why doesnt just give a simple code?
i have deleted and loaded Forscan several times . follow steps ,sent for license see it in download folder, open and then WHAT? no code to enter

You appear to be describing the Two Month trial license Key file? This process must be done within FORScan!

Open FORScan in the Steering Wheel Icon, Use the "Load License Key" Button and navigate the little file manager to the folder you found the key file in(Assuming it is the C:\Users {Your account name} "Documents Folder or a copy in the DownLoads Folder)! High Lite the Key file or Double click the file Click the OK Button and reload FORScan when it asks to reload!

The "Load From File" dialog manager will open to the FORScan Install folder by default(C:\Program Files(x86)\ FORScan)!

You can load the key in two ways! if you know where you have downloaded the key (Downloads , Documents) folder etc). Find it in the (Downloads or Documents) folder and High lite and Right click and select copy, Navigate to the FORScan install folder Use the "This PC" (C:\Program FIles(x86)\FORScan) and Paste the Key file in to the FORScan install folder and then open the FORScan "Load From file" dialog to the FORScan folder and FORScan will Load the key when you high-lite the .key file and click OK or just double click the file(You may have to be running as Administrator in Win 10 and 11 for this copy and paste operation to work)!

The other way and the way most of us do it, is to Use the drop down dialog caret( in the Directory box in 'Load From FIle" Where it says Program Fles(x86) and drop down and navigate to the C:\ and to the Users Folder ( as i show in the attachment) and open it and then to and open your user name folder and then open the folder where you have downloaded the file : see Attachment

High-lite the .key file and click OK or just double click the key file and FORScan should do the rest from within the Load From File dialog box!

This is mostly a quirk of Windows(All the way back to Windows 3.0) and not of FORScan!

Hope that is of some help?

This is something FORScan has been Fighting with Microsoft over False Positives(And some other AV Providers) for quite some time and so far not winning!
They have addressed this in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=12478 along with a post toward the end of the thread from member NightShift memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=490724 and the Post on what he did to address a recent FORScan AV False positive with FORScan is here:viewtopic.php?p=105576#p105576 !
