2020 UK Ford Ranger PATS

So Ive found loads of useful information on here regarding PATS and RKE
The thing is, info doesnt seem to be very up to date.
I have the latest version of Forscan, as of an update yesterday, I have VLinker FS which works flawlessly as far as I can tell.
Ive made a couple of small mods to the truck...DRLs, so I'm quite comfortable using it.
But the remote Keyless entry key programming is generally a grey area for me...
I only got one fob with the truck, but 2 are programmed..I bought a selection of fobs from aliexpress and ebay. I want to delete existing and add at least one extra...which obviously I have to. I can see how to do it, I've read a lot, I pretty much think I could do it without instruction even though I havent tried.
But I keep reading bits about how Ford have blocked any incode/outcode channels and only dealers have the master access key or code?
Is it still possible for this model/year?
I rang my local Ford dealer...£80 to code a fob to the vehicle, which I thought was OK...but they wont code a 3rd party fob to the vehicle, you have to buy one from them... a total of £340 to purchase and code

The idea that only ford can do it is nonsense.
My autel scantool can do it.

If the forum data says it can do it for that car then it should.
I would be cautious and use the add a key function and not erase all keys because your copy replacements might not actually work and once you've erased them you must have two good programmable ones to fresh program them in.

If add a key fails it won't matter as you already have one key that works.

The other option would be to get someone with equipment like mine to simply clone your existing key and the car will accept both. This option doesn't involve programming the car at all.

I only have 1 key so I can't just add another. That can only be done if you already have 2 working registered keys.

I want to delete the existing registered keys because I only have one, someone out there has the other.

I do own Autel KM100 but only support US rangers or keyfobs upto 2019.

So I need to be sure forscan will be successful before I attempt to delete my only working key

That's strange your machine can't do it.
Mine has the option to add a key or to add keys with all keys lost.
My KM100 does uk rangers with the smart key 2019-2021 or blade key 2012-2019. Maybe you need to update yours?

aha I have found it... IMMO>FordEU>VCI etc etc yeah I have it.

Well that's good, I have a few options open to me now.

Hopefully I wont need to ring someone to come do it for me

Ideal matey, glad you found it. I would advise this to you though, if your unsure if the new key will program correctly then as above use the add a key function first to add the new key. If it does this successfully then you can erase all and then add both. We do this as if you erase first then find the new key can't be programmed then your stuck as with only one successfully programmed the car won't start.

I'm still sure I need 2 active keys in order to add an additional one,
even with Autel I'm sure it presents you with a list of prerequisites before you start.

anyway I have 4 additioanl keyfobs to choose from:-

One is a secondhand (FORD) one from same model / year scrapped vehicle.... can these be reused ?
One I got from ebay, (an aftermarket chinese copy) which the PCB is identical to my working original
2 more I got from aliexpress.
All 433.92Mhz, ID49

One of them has gotta work

Your autel has the option to add a smart key, that option should just add one or more keys however many you wish. I would check the FFCID is correct on those other keys and try to program one that matches.
