Power running boards

Post by MooreFamily »

Good afternoon, I have a 2023 F450. I purchased a set of power running boards for the truck. It did not come with powered steps from the factory. The steps plug into the back of the OBD port for the high and low signals. I have verified with the dealer the correct pins to plug into.

It does not have an advanced settings option in the cluster panel. After going through FORScan I was able to get the running boards option on the computer. I have enabled (running board and power running boards) option in the IPC, DSM and APIM and the steps still do not work. I can not find anything in the BCM or PCM.

I would greatly appreciate any help. I have had the steps for a month and haven’t been able to use them.

On my '19, they had their own module in the back of the console. I had to do a full reboot of the truck the old fashioned way, to get the modules to see and talk to each other.

I'm fairly certain 22 or 23+, they combined that module with....and that's where my brain's giving out. A little too many module resets in the last 24hrs installing my sync4 kit.

The running boards on a 23 450 are controlled by the drivers seat module (DSM)
If you don't have memory seats it wont work
