2013 premium cluster reflash to boss 302.

Post by Tanted »

So I got my hands on a boss 302 cluster face. I currently have a premium cluster. From what I know, the cluster are the same, only different is that one cluster goes to 180, red lines at 9k. Everything else looks the same. My question is, for the cluster to show correct mph and rpm what as built file would I look into? I have a feeling it would be in as built but not sure where. I can get a vin from a 302 same year, my coworker has a 302 and I can get the vin from.

If the speedometer and tach needles do not read correctly, it is probably due to the firmware. As built data does not typically make these types of changes/adjustments. You can try installing the entire new cluster and then adjusting as built data to get other things working but this can be tedious becasue you have to figure everything out yourself. Cluster upgrades sometimes just don't work but many have been successful for those who are determined.

Unfortunately, it's very rare when someone has documented all that is required for a cluster upgrade and when they do it only applies to that model and year.
