Replacement Cluster (IPC) Cannot add keys :(

Post by Jong99 »

Hi everyone,

I’m using Forscan to program a replacement instrument cluster on a 2009 Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.25 petrol. I managed to back up IPC Main, but IPC As Built is not listed as an option to back up. I went ahead anyway: installed the new cluster, wrote IPC Main to the module, and then attempted to program the keys.

I was able to delete the two keys from the module successfully, but I cannot add my keys to the new cluster. Forscan reports the key addition process as successful, yet the key counter remains at 0. I’ve tried both keys several times with the same result. The car starts normally when I reinstall the original cluster.

All the guides I’ve read say you need an IPC As Built backup, but I can’t find one for this car. I’ve tried two different Forscan cables, I have an extended license, and I’ve tested on both Windows 10 and Windows 7 with no luck.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I have a friend who also has Forscan and he tried his laptop and cable and it is doing exactly the same.

Thanks,

"cable"? Exactly what cable? More information is better.

Thanks. To explain the problem: I’m fitting a replacement instrument cluster because the airbag LED was removed from the original. I’ve just noticed that a newly cut key starts the car with the original cluster even though I haven’t programmed it. Could the original cluster’s PATS/immobiliser has been bypassed?
