Enable Customer Key Programming
Does anyone know how to enable the customer key programming feature? I have a 2011 F-150 XLT that I added/activated a remote start. However, I only have 1 original key. I purchased 2 key fobs, direct from Ford. When I go into the PATS erase and programming feature of FORScan v2.3.7, I get an "access denied" message. I have seen on the forums that there is an option to enable key programming if it has been blocked on fleet vehicles, but I can't find this option anywhere. Please help. Thanks

You need to apply for a license "http://forscan.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=836" Then you're tripping over how the function will launch the "input code" for key programming calculators are available on the net and the rest is already straight does

Re: Enable Customer Key Programming
Normally you can program fobs (lock/unlock/panic) with out needing forscan or other special tools. Check your manual. Of course this assumes your truck had the option in the first place (remote lock etc). If you are trying to program actual keys then you might be in luck without using forscan. You have one actual key and also remote start. As it turns out the remote start should count as a separate key which gives you 2 keys. Try the procedure in the owner manual for additional keys. Use the remote start as the first key, even though you may actually start the vehicle which isn't part of the procedure, it will probably work. It worked for my daughter's 2010 focus that has remote start. She lost one of her physical keys but we were able to program a new one using the remote start and her 2nd key.
