Manual writing of fuel capacity in IPC
2015 F250 Super Duty 6.7L. Added a secondary fuel tank and trying to adjust the capacity under IPC from the OEM 26 to 70 gal but the re-write options only go to 65 gal. Is there a way to manually enter the desired capacity number?? TIA

Re: Manual writing of fuel capacity in IPC
I don't have access to that particular vehicle but if you had the code for both the 26 and 65 gallon tanks it may be possible to decode and create a custom code for you. If you can look at the binary data, http://www.compulsivecode.com/Project_A ... mpare.aspx makes this easier for you to do.
The trick here would be that your fuel tank capacity will likely be stored in litres not gallons, 26 U.S. gallons is 106 litres, 65 U.S. gallons converts to 246 and 70 U.S. gallons is 266 litres.
The section you would be looking for would be coded as 01100010 for 26 verses the 65 gallon tank would be coded as 011110110, but I suspect you will be limited by coding locations to 11111111 which works out to 255 litres or 67.3 U.S. gallons.
I could be wrong but I do suspect they didn't allow for that as it would require using another code block to allow for the larger tank(s) as you would need to have another "digit" to the binary value to get to 70 U.S. gallons ( 266 litres), 00000001 00001010 would be equal to 70 U.S. gallons.
