hi I have a 2008 focus st uk model that is modified I'm looking to buy a pcm/ecu that is off a damaged car but has been remapped by a tuning company revo.
I'm thinking of swapping m pcm/ecu over from a focus rs that has been remapped wih a revo file, ive spoke to may people reference swapping the ecu's over and ive told that's its just the keys and clocks that need to get programmed in for it to work? would the ecu keep the revo file on the ecu after its been programmed to my vehicle
has anyone done this with forscan?
if so whats the steps to take to do this
many thanks
pcm/ecu swap?

Re: pcm/ecu swap?
Not sure what kind of emission testing you have to go through, but by changing the PCM, you are changing the electronic VIN. So your title has the car's VIN but the PCM has a different VIN. I don't know if there is another program out there besides Ford's IDS to change the VIN in the new PCM.
And yes, the PATS system will also be "upset" that VINs of the modules don't match.

Re: pcm/ecu swap?
yea the vin will be different. ive connected the laptop to the car via the elm cable and looked to see if I can program the keys to the ecu but the forscan program says that the function s not supported for vehicles with keyless start/entry
