General Question 2017 Fusion. Heat knob light

I have a 2017 Fusion model S with Sync 1. The knob on my heater has a little white square on the edge of the knob which indicated the position of the knob...hot or cold, when you rotate it. The question is, should that little white square illuminate at night when the dash lights are on so toy can see what position the knob is in? Mine doesn't. Thanks.
