Daytime Running Lights

Post by Automate »

Daytime Running Lights (DRL, turning headlights only on during the day) are optional in North America. Many Fords of the last five years or so have had the DRL ability but it is generally turned off at the factory. An owner has to go to the dealer to have the DRL feature turned on. Is it possible for FORScan to turn on the DRL feature?

No. You need to change bcm configuration. Only with dealer IDS or Focom. There are also some freeware Focccus, elmconfig that works on elm devices but you need to be very careful.

with dealer tool IDS, do following:
1) Go to programmable parameters, select exterior lighting.
2) Change from disabled to enabled in the body control module and instrument cluster module.
3) Follow the directions on screen for cycling the key or ignition on and off.
4) Clear codes. Done.
