Do you have an information on how to identify a fixed vs old cable, do they look exactly the same, the boxes seem the same? Do amazon/Aliexpress have the fixed or broken ones.
Thanks

The packaging of the new and old products is currently the same. We will differentiate the products based on market and customer feedback. The old equipment is only incompatible with USB interfaces on some computers. Both devices have the same functions. If you have purchased the old equipment and encounter compatibility issues on your computer, you can contact support@vgate.com.cn and tell us your computer model. We can replace it for you for free.
I just ordered an FS USB on Amazon on 5/24/25 here in the US, will I likely get a new (updated) unit or an older problematic unit?

Amazon's inventory is already all up-to-date with the latest devices, so if you purchased your device from the official Vgate store, then you're getting the latest device.

I can confirm the replacement works on my two Thinkpad's that the original didn't work on. Thanks

Well, it seems mine worked
2010 Fusion 2.5 I4, I swapped the PCM for a used OEM unit
Changed the VIN, and the transmission solenoid strategy
FORScan gave me several warnings and objections, but it did work
Are there any firmware updates for my vLinker, or did it come up to date? @vgatemall

The warnings all look normal & are just part of the process for MFU.

Manufacturer has solved the problem, new version of the adapter was successfully tested. vLinker FS has been returned to the list of recommended adapters. The issue can be closed.

Literally just purchased one of these, how can I tell if it is the one that is fixed or is it just a firmware update that is needed?

As per a previous VGATE post, they packaging etc is the same. If you bought from their official store after the date they posted saying all stock is now the revised version, you have it. If you plug it in & it works, it doesn't really matter which version you have.

If you guys purchased a device that doesn't work in your computer and aren't sure if it's because of an older device, then you can contact support@vgate.com.cn .
If it is the old device that is preventing it from working, we will resend you a new one!

I'm curious - why is it not in the list on https://forscan.org/home page?
Maybe you should link the page with recommended adapters instead in the list of supported adapters?
