Hi,
Our Transit Connect is killing us with its bad shift Quality.
The Software of PCM & TCM are at the latest Levels , the Oil in Engine and Trans is changed, no errors to be seen.
But the Upshifts especially cold in the lower gears are terrible....downshifts are better but far from "good" or "smooth".
Is there a way to learn the Transmission oder do adaptations ? Could not find anything in Forscan.
For other TCMs it does standstill Learnings where it switches Gears and revs up the engine and learns things that way.

Hi there, usually there is an option to do an auto tramission learn procedure. Although you may want to check the functionality list on forscan.org as to whether you can do this with the free version or whether you need the paid license version.
Another possibility is that forscan does not yet have that function for that year and model of vehicle. You can possibly have them add this function.
I personally would try a re learn first before digging any deeper.

Thanks for your Input.
I have the paid Version, so thats no problem.
There are Options for "Stop Adaptive Learning" - "Resume Adaptive Learning" and "reset Learned Values of Adaptive Learning"
but that is just for the shift Learning with driving like slower shifts or quicker shifts depending on the Owner driving it.
It should shift "normal" even when all cleared, but even that it doesn´t. That we tryed already and drove about 500km after reset.
I´ll send the Support Team some data and see what they maybe have for this ECU.
Whats especially annoying is the Jump it makes after Start/Stop. You stop behind a car in traffic, engine shuts off, ok.
The Car in front goes a little bit forward so you let off the Brake pedal, the engine starts and the whole car "jumps" 1-2m forward
from standstill. If you don´t pay attention or have you foot on the Brake the next thing you notice is that you´ve rear-ended the
Car in front of you in traffic
It like the Trans doesn´t have any idea where the "loose" Point of the Cluth is or where it applys.
Our Ford Dealer wasn´t helpful at all - "ah,ya thats how they are - live with it or we can buy it cheap from you for a other Car"....
Thx Chris

I believe that "reset learned values of adaptive learning" is actually what you are looking for. When you reset those values by default the system will start the learning procedure as no known values are stored. It would be the same for the pcm I believe. I would give it a try.
I would also contact forscan too and ask them to confirm?

Re: 2020 Transit Connect with 8F35 Gearbox drives me crazy
Just looking for the Strategie of the Gearbox, found this one :
I read that the Code should have 13 digits....
If i look at this , the Strategy Code would be : 2014180022888 (13-digit)
And Body ID : 0BA3454D9EB9 (12 digit)
Can anyone confirm that the Strategiecode looks like a Build date Number ?
But the Built-Date should be 20154120574, if the Info i found is right.
Info i found is : thx Chris
