On newer F150, the 12 volts on the trailer connector is not always on (you dont have lights in your trailer if your truck is not running). I was wondering if we could change a value in some module to tell the truck to have this output always on, on the F250 ant up they are always on, it's maybe a wiring thing but I wont know if I dont ask... lol
Thanks everyones.
Activating 12 volts on trailer connector via forscan?????
Re: Activating 12 volts on trailer connector via forscan????
i also wonder if this can be done by programming. i have figured out a way to do it with hard wiring but i hate modifying factory harnesses. The problem with hard wiring is the truck thinks there is a trailer attached all the time and so every time you put the truck in gear the "trailer connected" message pops up on the dash
Re: Activating 12 volts on trailer connector via forscan????
I finally decide to install a jumper and a switch on the trailer tow module. I've took the input power (pin 1) and connected to the output (pin 3) with a switch to avoid someone turning my light on the trailer and killing my battery!!!
Simple and no message!
1 foot of wire and 1 switch!!!
The trailer tow module is located just over the park brake pedal!
