OBDLink® EX
Re: OBDLink® EX
I just wanted to say that I purchased this off of Amazon and it worked flawlessly. Connected it to my ThinkPad and the driver was already up to date. It connected to my new Raptor quickly and without error and was a great experience. I highly recommend!

Re: OBDLink® EX
Hello,
Does the original Ford VCMII cable work for module upgrades or is it better to buy the OBDLink® EX adapter?
Thank you.

Re: OBDLink® EX
If you have access to an original Ford VCM2 not a "clone", then definitely yes and no need for the EXTriviRS wrote: Sun Aug 02, 2020 7:35 pm Hello,

Yes, I have access to an original cable, as soon as I get the calibration files I try to update.tractmec wrote: Mon Aug 03, 2020 12:30 amIf you have access to an original Ford VCM2 not a "clone", then definitely yes and no need for the EXTriviRS wrote: Sun Aug 02, 2020 7:35 pm Hello,

Re: OBDLink® EX
I bought this adapter hoping it would be faster than elm327 and able to update a pcm module on mk3.5 focus using forscan beta but it failed faster than elm 327 so i cant recommend anybody buy this adapter cheap china elm327 managed to wipe ecu and get 80% loaded before failing oblink ex failed at wiping block 6 on pcm Latency set to 2
I expected a better product for the money it costs

Re: OBDLink® EX
OBDlink EX cannot connect to android 7 device via otg.
It causes FORScan to freeze, I have to restart the phone. Viaken STN1170 and STN2120 work beautifully.
Can anyone advise?

Re: OBDLink® EX driver issues
Got an OBDLink EX and tried to load the USB to Serial driver on my old Dell Inspiron 8500 (very old) running Windows XP sp3. The driver is the one on OBDLink website (CDM v2.12.28 WHQL Certified). When installing the driver over and over again (even after uninstalling and reinstalling). I get "The driver may be corrupt or missing (Code 39) error. I have tried both USB ports with the same results every time. The OBDLink EX always has a red light, never yellow.
Is it possible that my computer is too old? I thought XP was supported with this device so I don't really know at this point. I do know that the USB ports were able to read and write to a flash drive before I started. I have not tried that with the corrupted driver install though. Maybe someone has an idea as to what the issue might me. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
John
