troby wrote: Fri Jul 09, 2021 5:24 pm When I use Forscan everything works well but when I'd like to connection ELMconfig 0.2.17c I get error responds message.
As (V)CP and FTDI D2XX method also get the same "Incorrect response from adapter to request "ST I": STN2230 v5.6.5.
The ELMconfig is dated software and never kept up to the new interfaces.
This link offers what should be used.

The STN firmware is very different than the standard ELM327 device.
If you want ELMconfig to work, purchase the BAFX v1.4 and add the switch inside.
Thank you very much. Sad to hear that, I bought exactly for that reason this OBDLink EX. I already have the cheep ELM327 tools but that is too slow as the program sad to writing the PCM modul.

You answered your own question as to speed.
Don't change anything with the OBDLink EX, leave the drivers and firmware intact.
I have the BAFX and happy with it, the problem with ELMconfig is that it is slow to begin with.
You can try other USB cables that support FTDI D2xx drivers and also ask the ELMconfig forum users of what the best option is.
Do not ask for help in PM. Use the forum to ask and answer questions! There's a special place for NOT following up!

Hello I did all that. OBDlink support told me they released a new version last week with newer HW revision and stn2231 chip. Due to shipping problems worldwide forscan didn't received their new version yet.

Hello. I have Obdlink EX, bought on the official site. Forscan recognizes that this cable is not safe for calibration updates... Can someone help?

Ok so what is up with this connector does it work or no ? I cannot get mine to work on my car but that I think is due to my OBD2 port having a problem I tested pins 6 and 14 and get a resistance of 120 ohms so something is bad. Just need to know if this unit is going to work or if I just need to get a new one from someplace.

It is working but slow, and forscan notify, that adapter has low speed and is not recommended to use for calibration update.
I updated IPC with 16mb for 3 hrs it was terrible...
