ABS module U3000:48:2B supervision software failure, *SOLVED*!!

Post by ultimate111 »

Hi everyone,

Ford Fiesta 2010, zetec model, 1.4 petrol, today randomly the abs light, traction control light and handbrake light came on together.

Code stored is U3000:48:2B in the ABS module, this relates to supervision software failure, currently present.

I have tried clearing codes but come straight back.

Is there any way I can reset the unit to restore the software?

I do not have a forscan adb file of the abs module before this fault occured, I have tried downloading the ASbuilt file but it doesn't appear to have the abs module shown on the download page, just bce. Would backing up the module configuration, 'bring the fault with it' if I copied it to a second hand unit?

I'd be really grateful for any help anyone can offer, if I can't reset the unit can I buy a second hand unit of the same part number and without the ASbuilt files somehow make it work in the car?

Nothing has been done to the config of the car recently it's been fine for past 2yrs.

Abs module
Assembly number AV59-2C405-CC
Software number AV59-14C036-AC

Thanks

2010 Ford Fiesta U3000:48:2B

(A) Saving the AB data is one step.
(B) You should address the inputs to the ABS controller ie:
Brake lights, Brake pedal switch, Steering angle sensor, ABS sensor revolutions, Throttle input, power and ground circuits.

A reflash of the original controller if (B) tests are positive.

(C) Only the original part number or fitting part number should be attempted on that model.

(D) Then upload the AS data

(E) A reflash is a good idea for the the replacement.

Thanks for your reply.

(A) The issue I am facing is there is no option to backup the ABS module.
As I understand it, (but stand to be corrected), this is because this model year fiesta uses central configuration, as such the abs module gets its config centrally.
I have tried the module initialisation / relearn vehicle data' on the current faulty unit to no avail.
I have sourced an exact matching part on all part numbers on the pump and module.
I have read conflicting information on whether I will get a VIN mismatch error and if the initialisation/ relearn will resolve this, do you know?
( B) inputs are ok

On your point E, how would i reflash it in these circumstances?

Hi, I have similar vehicle.
Why you not use last official or even beta version of forscan?
It will be less problematic/risky

If the AS-Built data is not found or acquired then:
(A) The best advice is to reflash using dealer equipment.
(B) The only way to perform a successful reflash is with the correct and matching part number that fits the model.

If the FORScan version is too old, then update it with the latest version and try again.
If the AS data is STILL not found or acquired, then follow (A) and (B).

Just an update for anyone facing similar in future.

I was able to fit and programme used module.

Having fitted the unit original code was gone, new code for incompatible configuration present, ran the ABS initialisation and relearn vehicle data procedure and cleared codes, all fixed!
Abs self test KOEO successful

only outstanding issue is calibration of longitudinal acceleration sensor, when trying to run it it says not supported.

It is reading -32 G and is not falgging any codes but is not altering as lateral readings do when driving.

What scan tool did you use? I have the same issue with my 2010 Fiesta Zetec, I am using a ELM327 adaptor, I can do most functions, but I cannot initialise the ABS module, keep getting message operation not supported.

Hi I used modified elm327 OBD500K, it has the HS / MS switch. From tunnelratelectronics.
