Mazda 6 - firmware update

Post by OKyHb »

Hi all,

I would like to test firmware update on my Mazda 6 (2017 year). No real reasons, just interested
However I don't quite understand the version numbers. For example "FSC" module:

Code: Select all

FSC - Forward Sensing Camera
Part number: B61L-67XCX-E
Calibration level: B61L-67XK2-P (latest known: KDD1-67XK2-A)
Strategy : B61L-67XK2-P
VIN: JM1GL1V59H1113841

Is it normal that prefix and suffix for Calibration are changed? (B61L -> KDD1, P -> A)

Or "TCM" module - suffix for Hardware Number will be changed from "D" to "B":

Code: Select all

TCM - Transmission Control Module
Part number: FZ21-21EM1-G
Calibration level: PYJN-21EM1-A (latest known: PYJN-21EM1-B)
Strategy : PYJN-21PS1-A

It is normal to change those letters, that is how Ford or any other advanced repair shop would know if any changes or updates were applied to a control module. The changes can be tracked backwards.
Do not ask for help in PM. Use the forum to ask and answer questions! There's a special place for NOT following up!
