In other words "End of life for that model" and don't want the general public to mess with the Hybrid battery.
Have a look at the cooling portion of the Hybrid battery.
Remember, this is NOT a toy and will kill in a heart beat.
FORScan may be able to control the fan ON / OFF to ensure it cools.
FORScan will monitor a defective fan and set a fault.

FWIW, I am also an eautorepair.net subscriber and have been for the last 4+ years. The 2 PDF files you sent are also listed within the data for my 2019 MKZ. Check it out if you're not familiar with it.

Regarding the cooling fan, I did see a line entry in one of the Forscan scans that showed the cooling fan as disabled. However, when I ran the BECM test, the fan clearly came on. So I know it's working. My question is, do you recommend I enable it in Forscan? My guess is it's been disabled since the vehicle was first built. I've never heard it come on while driving. When I had my plug in CMax, I did hear the cooling fan come on when I had it plugged in to recharge. But since this is not a plug in hybrid, maybe only if the battery gets very hot will the cooling fan come on. I guess it can't hurt to try it. I can always go back to "disabled" if necessary.

You can enable it but that fan does not need to be operating if the MKZ is not operating.
Enabling that feature may also have the fan remain ON when the MKZ is operating and now becomes a consumer.

The stink of it is, I can no longer find the cooling fan disable/enable entry. And I went thru every single module with a configuration. I just know I saw it at some point. Any idea in what module it might be?

Leave it for now, at some point in time, the fan will enable when required.
Listen / monitor it during charging conditions. Generally, a monitored temperature sensor will enable the fan because of temperature.

Remember the algorithms Ford created, they are not going to help you because of "end of life".
There are some considerations: Heat and cold has an effect on Hybrid battery life. Accessories that are active will affect average mileage.
