Can someone tell me what is the plastic frame?

Or have I completely got this update process wrong :?:
Some custom firmware have different designs that make the IPC as a full digital cluster without the physical dials/numbers like the stock design has. See sample video below.

So if you're only flashing stock firmware, the plastic frame change is not required.

Thanks for the info!
Now I understand, it's fully digital. These look amazing indeed, maybe something for the future for me.
Does the update change the trip computer automatically?
I assume I can change the needle color etc. after the firmware update in the As Built section?

For trip computer, I think yes because you have a EU cluster. But for needles you can't change the colors in As Built Section. They come as part of the firmware only.

Ok, thanks for clarifying.

Just two more (annoying) questions:
1. Do I need Forscan 2.4.x or am I safe with the current 2.3.56?

2. I understand the result will be like this:
Image

As there will be the long needle - what will happen with the car symbol that shows distance from car in front etc (picture below) - where can I see what distance I've set for the adaptive cruise control?

2.3.xx does not have firmware flashing capabilities. You need 2.4.x.

It will still show in the same place. The picture you showed has it turned off, that's why you cannot see it.

Well I completed the update and now I have the digital speedometer in the middle of the cluster. That was the reason I did it afterall.

However, I didn’t get those fancy trip computer nor thick needles - I guess I chose the wrong calibration file? Or could it be added through As built menu?

I also have a led-bar installed which turned on with high-beams automatically. After the update, it’s blank and not turning on at all - could the update disable it somehow?
