[SOLVED] Digital IPC Firmware update

Post by Amenra »

Hello everyone.

I have already performed software updates several times with Forscan, always without problems. But now I have a little one. I would have liked to give my IPC a different view, so I changed the BJB file. When testing the firmware, it started with the bootloader, but nothing else happened, so I thought, programming directly. It seemed to start, but immediately I got the message as in the picture. No matter what I tried, no matter what settings I changed, nothing happened. I'm probably overlooking something, so I wanted to ask for some feedback along this way.

I have a OBDLinkEX with the latest firmware. (and Forscan 2.4.5) All other actions work well with it. I did a firmware change to a digital speedo in the middle about a year ago, also no problems with it.

Where should I start looking?

Thanks in advance !

(If this question is asked several time, sorry but I didn't find a related question, but it could be my search method :D )

Try to make the update for each file by selecting custom and program each file separately

I already tried. Always the same. Starts with SBL but immediately stops.

I'm currently running that version.

I will give it another try tomorrow morning and see what happens.

Can say that I flashed my IPC to full digital without a problem with Forscan. I've done it 100 times now and never experienced a difficulty. Templates uploading goes quick (5 to 10 min) So everything is working fine.

Do you mean that you upload your own graphics to the IPC? If so, what do you use to make the graphics?

Yes you can upload whatever graphics you want to the IPC. Graphics are made with an online app. Pimp My Ford...

https://pimp-my-ford.web.app/ipc

Basically you prepare your VBF file and flash it to the IPC. Thanks to Szendo (Pimp My Ford app) and Chemikus (German MK5 forum) all this is possible.

Is this vehicle specific? If not, how would I determine which file correlates with the background? Thank you
