ok or not ok ipc screen ?

Ford Edge and I can't find where the hood latch sensor is...
I don't have any item with this name in any module :-(. Only in IPC hood switch, but it does nothing even when it is enable or disable. I'm already frustrated
Did you follow all the steps mentioned here? YES
Did you replace the RTM? YES
Did you enable Hood Switch in BCM? YES
Did you enable remote start in FCIM & SCCM? YES

Note: your Edge is a EU model, that could also be an issue. It is diesel, right? Auto or Manual? That could also be an issue. It is the 2016/2017, EU version, automatic, diesel Biturbo. Another person in the Czech Republic in the Czech Republic with which I communicate. He has the same model.

Do you have a hood switch? If not, you must install one before remote start will work. The wiring and connector should be there, in the front left corner of the engine compartment, possibly taped back to a wiring harness.
and what does the switch look like? I couldn't find anything through Google. Where would I find it in the engine compartment? I'm sorry, but I'm a layman. It's a pity that there is no mention of this anywhere in the manuals, that the remote start does not work without a switch. It is strange that such a switch would not already be factory-built for a car at such a price.
The only info I have is for a 2016. I'll assume it's the same as 2017. The hood ajar switch is part of the hood latch and not serviceable separately. If you have the perimeter anti-theft alarm you've got the switch. The reason the hood switch must work is so that the car can't be remote started with the hood open.

It looks like all Edge have the switch. Switch connector circled. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

The perimeter alarm doesn't have this car. Only alarm when someone breaks through the locked door. I'll look at the switch in a moment if I find it there. Thank you

That's how I have it. Some wires lead to it, so the sensor is apparently connected there. Unfortunately, it doesn't work anyway, except that the sensor does not work.

Does BCM exactly have a hood ajar switch option?
I have BCM from edge in my fusion and forscan did not have this option, and I found it with the blue UCDS and turned on this function to make remote start work.

I have no option in BCM :(. The only item is "hood switch" in IPC and enable is set there by default.

Previously, I did not have an open hood icon in IPC, but after turning on the hood ajar switch in BCM, the icon appeared. Find someone from UCDS and let them check it

Well now I think its my turn to give my feedback and experience from all of this and maybe add it to the main post.

I have a 2019 Smax 2.0 ecoblue 190cv Auto 8speed gearbox and this are all the "issues" Ive encountered and how did I ended up fixing them:

-Cant add any of the 2 keys Ive bought to be admin , my car has this functiom disabled , had to go to ford and 25€ after had the keys added.

-When I tried to do a remote start nothing happenned   . One of the conditions for remote start to work is to have the battery with enough charge , so please make sure you charge your batteries with a charger that supports our AGM batteries otherwise it wont charge properly. also DO NOT plug the (-) polarity directly to the battery as it will mess with the BMS ( battery monitor system) that again can mess with remote start.... ( it did in my case :? :o  ). also when fully charged its recommended to reset BMS module or leave the car closed without use during 8 hours so it will allow all system to work again.

- To start the car with remote start normally once car is closed you have to press 2 times the button, of course in my case this would not work, even if its already closed I have to press lock button and then 2 times the start button , then it will start :D :D

Regards to all of you guys

again fordsmax471 and also the polish guys fron youtube THANKS
Hello, I have a 2020 GTC, automatic, the same thing is happening to me as you, I have no way to add the key that I bought. I imagine I'll have to go to Ford. What did you request?I've been trying the keys in the tray process for three days, the PATS doesn't appear in Forscan, I don't know if there is any other method. Thank you very much for your attention, greetings from Burgos, Spain

I had a similar issue with a 2015 ford edge. It wasn't anything to do with a hood switch. I just didn't realize that the remote start will not work if there is a check engine light on. Not sure if that's your issue or not but it took me quite awhile to figure that out. Did you get your remote start working?

I have nothing with the engine and the light shines only after starting as a check and immediately goes out. That won't be.
