Increase Indicator/ blinks before cancel MK8 Fiesta
Does anyone know if it's possible to change the number of blinks/ indications from 3 to something higher. I could have sworn I saw this setting somewhere either on BCM or SCCM but it's not there when I've gone back.
I read on a Ford F150 it can be done by as built but my car is a MK8 2018 Fiesta and didn't want to try editing from a different vehicle.
Any help appreciated.

I don't know about the Fiesta but, in F150 and Taurus it is in the SCCM. 724-01-01 XXXX-X*XX-XXZZ. 0-3 = 1 Flash, 4-5 = 2 Flashes, 6-7 = 3 Flashes, 8-9 = 4 Flashes, A-B = 5 Flashes, C-D = 6 Flashes, E-F = 7 Flashes. Change the *. If you have a 6 change to 8, if you have a 7 change to 9 and so forth. Ignore the warning about the checksum, ZZ, and continue.

Thanks, I'd seen the F150 instructions before but reluctant to try it on a different model vehicle in case it messes something up.

Backup all the modules. Verify your backup.a7mag3ddon wrote: Sun Jan 18, 2026 2:55 pm Thanks, I'd seen the F150 instructions before but reluctant to try it on a different model vehicle in case it messes something up.
But I doubt the F150 settings will work. The vehicles are on different data platforms/architecture The only crossover seems to be the ACM since.it is common to many vehicles.

Well, if it was me, I'd look at 724-01-01 and see if the 6th character is 6 or 7. If so, change to the corresponding character for the increase you want. If the flash count changes, all good. If it doesn't, revert to the original value.

I had the letter B which is supposed to be for 5 flashes but it's not, it's current flashing 3. I changed it to C which should have increased it alot (from 3) but didn't so I don't think it's compatible.

Sadly no update, I don't think it can be done. Last thing I've read somewhere is if the car thinks there's a trailer attached it makes the flashes longer however that probably causes all sorts of other issues, trailer setting from memory is in the BCM. Enable and see if it works, I'll be trying myself at some point but I bet it complains it can't see the bulbs on the trailer and all kinds of stuff.
